VPS was team leader and coordinator of an interdisciplinary group of professionals tasked with a feasibility study for a Landscape Ecomuseum in four small cities near Sardinia's capital city. The study’s main thrust was the reinvention of the periurban and agricultural areas as cultural, social and economic resources for the four cities as well as for the whole metropolitan area. The study was conducted in the participatory spirit of the ecomuseum through interviews, questionnaires and a design charrette in the preliminary study phases. This “subjective” material, along with the more “objective” analyses (economy, demography, environmental/agronomic studies, legislation, sociology, anthropological/ethnographic studies) served as the basis for the design of the institutional architecture as well as the definition of priority strategic interventions for the first three years of Ecomuseum activity. The study was approved by the Sardinian Regional Government in April 2016.
